AAC Blocks
What is AAC ?
The Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is a lightweight, eco-friendly, high insulating, durable building product, which is produced in a wide range of sizes and strength. AAC offers incredible opportunities to increase building quality and at the same time reduces costs at the construction site.

AAC was perfected in the mid-1920s by the Swedish architect and
inventor Dr. Johan Axel Eriksson, working with Professor Henrik
Kreüger at the Royal Institute of Technology.
Porous Structure
This internal porous structure makes AAC block light weight.

Advantages of AAC Blocks
- lightweight
- Perfect size
- Fire resistance
- Durable
- Impact Resistance
- Sound Resistance
- Thermal Comfort
- Pest Resistance
- Water Resistance
- Cost Effective
Where are the AAC Blocks used?
AAC blocks have wide range of uses, such as:
- High Rise Buildings
- Residential Units
- Commercial Units
- Schools / Universities
- Hotels
- Hospitals
- Shopping Malls
- Factories

Advantages of using AAC Blocks
A non-toxic product which does not pollute the air, land or water. All wastes from the manufacturing process are recyclable and are reused.
AAC Blocks uses far less energy to manufacture due to its lightweight properties, it reduces the costs of transportation too.
AAC® Blocks are highly superior in terms of its strength. The high level of strength in the
blocks provide higher stability.
AAC Blocks are very light, thus, it reduces the overall dead weight. These blocks
also reduce the consumption of steel and saves up to 25% of foundation costs.
Installation time is significantly reduced due to fewer amounts of blocks,
resulting in a reduced finishing time.
Comparison Between AAC Block, Cement Block and Clay Brick

Variation in Dimentions (mm) | +1 | +3 | +5 |
Average Dry Density (kg/m3) | 400 – 800 | 1800 | 1 950 |
Compressive Strength (MPa) | 2 – 6 | 3 – 5 | 15 – 3 |
Thermal Conductivity (W/K.m) | 02 – 04 | 0.7 – 12 | 0.5 |
Fire Resistance | 4 – 6 hours | 4 hours | 2 hours |
Sound Reduction Index | 60 db sound gets reduced for 200 mm thick wall | 51 db sound gets reduced for 150 mm thick wall | 40 db sound gets reduced for 230 mm thick wall |
